Interim Minister: Steve and Brenda Filyer were raised within our CBOQ family. Married in May 1979 they have 2 children and 6 grandchildren. Ordained in 1980, Steve retired from full-time ministry in September, 2018. His last 2 pastorates totalled over 34 years. Steve believes that longevity is partly due to the intentional role played by 2 CBOQ Interim Pastors. His goal and prayer while here at Highland Baptist is that he might “Pay Forward” that gift to someone within today’s generation of pastors.
Associate Pastor, Children's Ministries & Congregational Life: Amanda has been part of the staff at Highland since 2011. She earned her MDiv from McMaster Divinity College. She loves finding meaningful ways for children to engage in worship, equipping parents to nurture their children’s faith, and facilitating opportunities for community and connection at Highland. Amanda is married to Adam, and they have two young daughters.

Minister Emeritus: While Das has lived most of his life in Canada, his country of birth is India and he spent many of his early years in Africa. He is married to Angela, and they have three children and two lively grandchildren. His theology degree is from McMaster and his doctoral degree from Chicago. His faith is central to his life. He believes Christ calls us to be partners with him in His work around the world, to touch people's lives at their point of need, and to make real God's incredible love so plainly seen in Jesus Christ.
Custodian: Adam is fully committed to the welfare and cleanliness of our facilities. We are grateful for his work on behalf of a very busy church.
